Do you love to decorate your baked goods? Do you see things on Pinterest and want to know how they’re done? Are you throwing a party and wracking your brain on a fun activity for everyone to do?
Then reserve a private or group decorating lesson through The Enchanted Whisk! For a flat fee, depending on the number of individuals, I will come to your location for 3 hours with ALL supplies necessary and teach you 4 separate techniques for decorating baked goods! The only thing you need to provide is yourself and enough table space for each individual to work (basic place setting at a table works fine).
This is a great and fun option for parties! Can be accommodated for birthdays, bachelorette and/or bachelor parties, friend get-togethers, holiday parties, and more!
You can tailor what you learn in the class in two separate ways. The first is to have a theme and let me decide which techniques to teach, based on the individual level. The second is to choose 4 things you would like to learn how to do and present them to me to approve.
Below are the 2 options for classes:
Cupcakes – these methods will utilize mostly buttercream frosting or fondant techniques. Both of the methods learned can be often times translated to use on larger items like cakes.
Cookies – these methods will utilize royal icing techniques or fondant (that is then painted with edible paint), which can be translated to use on fondant covered cakes as well.
Below are the pricing options:
Private/1-person lesson: $75.00 (see below comments about private lessons)
2-4 people: $110.00
5-8 people: $200.00
More than 8 people: $200.00 plus $35.00 per person after 8
Note on private lessons: Because this is a private lesson, there is more that can be offered that can’t be done with a group. For starters, the above class options will be a little more in-depth on the techniques learned, as well as give you the time you need to ask questions on what you are learning.
You can have the option of either the original 2 class choices OR you can opt to learn how to decorate a single 6in round cake. This can mean almost any cake decoration can be learned and then applied. If you want to know how to cover a cake in fondant and then paint on it, we can. You can also learn how to coat a cake in icing and then decorate it however you’d like, or how to create a specific themed cake. If you choose this option you would need to let me know in advance what you’d like to do as in some cases it may require that you have a working oven/stove we can utilize. **Please bare in mind that not all themed cakes can be taught in 3 hours and The Enchanted Whisk reserves the right to decline a certain cake if I feel the techniques are too involved for the time limitation we have.**
With private lessons you also have the option of choosing to learn Gum Paste techniques, instead. This is an advanced decorating class, where I will only teach 4 methods for shaping and forming certain gum paste items. No cupcakes, cookies, or cake will be used here, as it’s all about the sugar paste. You will commonly find these methods when making edible flowers, figures, etc. on both cakes and cupcakes.
Common questions:
Can I keep my items I make? Of course! All items that we make in class can be kept and enjoyed afterwards.
Will you give the recipes for the baked goods we’re decorating on? Sadly, no. Those are copyright property of The Enchanted Whisk.
I want to showcase a class at my place of business for my clientele, what do I do? Send an email to info@theenchantedwhisk.com and I’ll get in touch with you.
What are the guidelines for reserving a class? Classes will be treated like an order, as there is still prep time involved before each class. This means that you still have to reserve it as far in advance as you would any other order that I take, and can only reserve for Friday evenings, Saturdays, Sundays, and some Federal holidays. Please bare in mind that if I am already booked for that week, I generally cannot take on your class and a different date will need to be chosen. Exceptions will be made on a case by case basis only.
How do I reserve a class? Send an email to info@theenchantedwhisk.com or send a message to the business via the FaceBook messenger app. Include details like date, how many students are in the class, and your choices for themes and class options.
How do I pay? Full payment will be made at least 1 weeks prior to the date of the class. Payment can be taken as cash, check, credit card, or PayPal.
What if I need to cancel? You can cancel no later than 1 week prior to the date of the class, and be given a full refund. After than any cancelations within a week will not be given a refund.
